About Me

Shira Alt, LPCC

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

While I can’t pull that out for you, I can offer you my passion for creating deeply fulfilling relationships, and supporting honest personal growth.

Therapy sessions with me will be your warm and calm haven to do the genuine work leading to the transformations you are hoping for.

I am not afraid to challenge you and say the hard things because I believe that you are brave and have the strength to grow.

I am here to support you in your journey, give you the tools to climb, and celebrate your success when you reach the top of your mountain.

Clients leave my sessions more in touch with their own feelings, needs, and desires. They take home practical tools for implementing this greater level of clarity and self-awareness into their everyday lives.

Outside of counseling sessions, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my large, active family. I love to read (I’m always in the middle of at least three books). Highlights of my week: yoga and SoulCycle spin classes (they help keep me happy and sane)!

My clients and I often joke about my magic wand.

I received my Master of Science in Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of Ohio.

I continually build my skills, knowledge, and expertise and have completed advanced training in the following topics and evidence based modalities:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy- Level 2

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

  • Neurodiversity and ADHD

  • Divorce and Relationship Ambivalence

  • Infidelity and Betrayal Trauma
